Istanbul is an incredible city to visit when you are on vacation to Europe. An exotic blend of East and West. Flights to Istanbul takes approximately 12 hours from Indonesia and less than 4 hours had reached England.
Activities that must be performed when traveled to Istanbul
When you first visit to Istanbul, then there are some places that should not be missed as the view from the ferry to the Bosphorus, Hagia Sophia, the Grand Bazaar, and activities Hammam.
Many ferry operators in the Bosphorus and the most popular for a day trip is departing from Eminönü every day at 10:35 am in June through September. You will be charged the price of Rp 78,000 for a round trip (they came at least half an hour early to get a seat). The last stop is at Anadolu KavagI, which can be reached in less than two hours. But Ortakoy could be another option to stop and enjoy a meal or drink, or you can memesanjus fresh oranges and bring it into your trip on the ship.
Hagia Sophia which was once became a cathedral, basilica, and also mosques, has an architecture which is a combination of all three. Go up to the top and you can see a mix of leaf-shaped gold-colored mosaic elegant, the view from the balcony of the living room is large, and the statue of the archangel. Visitors will be charged an entrance fee of Rp 156,000 to here. Come to the newly opened while the Hagia Sophia, which is at 9 am.
Grand Bazaar is a manifestation of the world of Aladdin, where there are brightly colored carpets, aromatic spices, sparkling jewelry, and of course the sellers are very persuasive. You will be offered a typical Turkish food (lokum) that it feels most comfortable in his own country. There are also nuts, tea, and nougat are provided free of charge to be tried, as the afternoon tea drinking friends. One of the best stores to buy high-quality souvenir is Abdulla, who is known for his Turkish soap, and sometimes wrapped in a fez. There are also towels and linen are of good quality there. Go to Sofa to search for antiques and jewelry, as well as Erdun Collection for lantern collection.
It is a typical Turkish bath – not most separated by gender, but there are also some that have a combined session. However, if you choose one of these two types hammam, then most likely you can not create a new history of here – you better go to the relevant part, then meet afterwards so that you can compare the hammam experience you and your friends. Try Cagaloglu Hammam, one of the oldest in the city.
Culinary typical city of Istanbul
The food in Istanbul is very varied, ranging from the bizarre to the truly delicious. Search for “mothers and daughters” (a large meatballs meatballs meatballs surrounded by other smaller size), fish sandwich at the edge of the Bosphorus, gut from the stalls on the roadside, as well as kebabs for the night.
Start your day with breakfast in the cafes located on the edge of the river, in the European part of Istanbul. You can enjoy a Turkish breakfast with white cheese, tomatoes, and cucumbers, or try the pastries containing spinach, cheese or honey, and nuts. The House Cafe in Ortakoy is one of the most famous with seven kinds of food that starts with a Turkish-style breakfast, followed by a European-style breakfast, meat and poultry, cheese, and finally covered with a cake–kuean. To enjoy this menu, you are required to pay quite expensive, which is Rp 400.000,00, but is arguably a combination of breakfast and lunch you. Istanbul street food is very interesting – just make sure you watch how the food was prepared in front of you if you buy meat or fish. There is also a simit, a ring-shaped dough coated with sesame on it, or roasted corn on the cob, and fresh fish sandwiches also arrested on the same day which can be found at the end of the Golden Horn.
One of my favorite places for lunch or dinner is Ciya, where you can find foods that are unusual from Turkey, including some that I have mentioned above, such as “mothers and daughters“. I recommend grape leaves with contents, soup beans, flat bread and sauce, okra soup, stir-fried liver with grilled kofte kebab and sauce, and yogurt are a little salty to drink.
Middle of the day, you can visit one of the cafes in Istanbul to just sit and enjoy a Turkish coffee and smoke a cigar as local residents do not most. One of the most fun places Divan Yolu Cad is located near the Grand Bazaar. If you are not a fan of coffee, then you can try sage tea or apple tea commonly attempted tourists.
Kebab is also a staple food in Istanbul. Kebabs can be eaten as a midnight snack or can be as a main meal. But not all stores sell kebabs are delicious, then seek recommendation from people. Tantuni Kebab is my favorite – mutton kebab containing sliced, or sometimes containing meat cooked with spices and rolled to resemble a pancake, then served with chili and ayran (yogurt drink cold) to relieve the heat of cabainya. One of the best places to get food is at your Emine Siraselviler Caddesi Billurcu Sokak.
